My name is Michelle Morand. I’m the founder and director of The CEDRIC Centre and the creator of our successful web program and all of the materials you’ll find within it.
If you’re here it means that you or someone you care about is struggling with overeating or restriction and you/they need a little help to step beyond it completely.
I’m going to share some information with you about what the program contains and how it works and most importantly, what you can expect to get out of being a member. I’ve also included some of the feedback from current members and graduates so you can see what others are saying about our program. First off, for those of you, like me, who are, shall we say… “technologically challenged” let me reassure you that the program is very easy to navigate and it contains something for every learning style.
You can be successful with this program with just a few minutes of effort a day – literally! Those changes will just keep on deepening and expanding in to all of the sensitive or troubled areas of your life as we continue our work together.

My goal for you in this program, is not only that you stop using food to cope but that you feel confident in your ability to identify and thoroughly resolve any of the underlying issues in your life that trigger you to use food to cope. And, with the simple and easy steps you learn through this program that is exactly what will happen.
You see, if you don’t learn how to quickly and easily identify and resolve the stressors in your life, when your stress level rises for whatever reason, you are likely to find yourself eating when you’re not hungry or trying to restrict calories or amounts of food. To me, that is not the definition of success.
I really appreciate that you can work on this program discretely on a computer, instead of worrying about who may see you with your nose in the brightly coloured orange book.
In order for us to consider our work together a success you have to know, beyond any doubt, that you are done with overeating, done with restriction, done with food and body image stress and that no matter what happens you won’t feel drawn to eat when you’re not hungry, or restrict or feel negatively about your body. You also need to know that in stepping free of that old mindset you are able to easily and effortlessly achieve and maintain a natural weight for your body. That is my goal for you. That is success. That is lasting change. And for that to be your reality you need to be confident in your ability to handle anything life brings your way in a way that is honouring and respectful of you.
This is so good, and there are more good times in my future, sweet. I know that life is what it is and there will be down times and that's cool too - I can take it, because now I've got tools!
The purpose of the Food is not the Problem program is to provide you with the education, skills and support you need to stop overeating or restricting once and for all. It is also going to give you the resources you need to no longer use any other harmful coping patterns such as:

Do you recognize any of those patterns in any of your thoughts, feelings or behaviours? If so, it’s time to get excited because by gently working your way through this program you’re going to take care of all of those coping strategies and then some! Are you excited?! I am very excited for you!
It’s the easiest work I've ever had to do.
Imagine if, with just a few minutes of effort each day, you could wake up on this date, one year from now, and no longer need to use any of those coping strategies in your life. What would life be like? Imagine the health you will have created in your career, your friendships, your primary relationships and family connections in order to no longer need those coping patterns. I know from personal experience that, without those harmful coping strategies life feels free and exciting and you feel passionate and alive.
The daily centering exercises really do keep me on track with my new tools. Even when I don’t have the time or energy to do anything in the program, these brief quotes remind me of key points and I feel supported and my day just goes better!
With the tools and support you’ll receive in this program it is well within your ability to experience a life that is completely and forever free from food and body image stress. There is no magic to this process. Everyone can succeed at it because it is a simple, clear process that guides you to put one foot gently in front of the other until you find yourself in a different place, feeling strong and stable and safe and trusting of yourself.

I will forever be grateful that Cedric Centre popped up and that you are the person behind it all. I think of you so often. As of 2010 I have been specializing in the field of disordered eating and related concerns for 16 years. In this time I have seen many men and women step into a life that is entirely free of the old food and body stress.
Regardless of what you’ve tried before or what any other person or professional has told you before: Complete recovery is not only possible, you can expect it! It does not have to be hard or take a long time. All that is required on your part is a genuine readiness to change. I provide the tools, the support and the education.

Three Key Areas of Focus:
As a clinician with over 16 years of experience specializing in the field of disordered eating, depression and trauma I have come to identify three key areas of focus in supporting clients to heal:
• Your relationship with food;
• Your relationship with yourself; and
• Your relationships with others;
By the time we have completed our work together you will be confident in your ability to address your relationships with food, with yourself and with others in a way that continually enhances your sense of confidence and trust in yourself and provides you with a life that is free of stressful food and body image focus.
I am so happy! I feel like the person I knew existed inside is finally out!
If you are one of the millions of men and women who overeat or restrict or struggle to maintain a natural weight for your body, take a moment and ask yourself the following questions:
• What exactly is it that you do with food right now that doesn’t work for you?
• How does that impact your feelings about your body at this time?
• How do you feel when you engage in that way of being with food?
• What are the thoughts that you have when you engage in that behaviour?
• What are the things that you do or don’t do in your life because of how you think and feel about your relationship with your body and food?
• What is the impact on your life of thinking and feeling and behaving this way?
• What is the price you pay and that others around you pay for your current behaviours, thoughts and feelings about food and about your body?
Given your answers to those questions you might feel reinforced in your belief that it truly is your behaviour around food and your non-compliant body that are to blame for how you feel about yourself and for what is not working in your life at this time.
You may feel that you have just proven to yourself yet again that food is the problem and if you could just change that, everything else would shift; you wouldn’t feel so crappy, sad or angry; you wouldn’t think so negatively of yourself and believe that you truly are undeserving of happiness and peace in your life; you wouldn’t hate your body; you’d be getting out more; you’d feel safe engaging in relationships more fully and deeply; you wouldn’t be afraid to say what’s on your mind; you wouldn’t be thinking about harming yourself; you’d exercise more; you’d take better care of yourself overall.
Based on that story, everything seems to hinge on you getting a solid handle on your relationship with food. No wonder food is such a powerful force in your life. No wonder there is such an emotional charge around your current relationship with food and so much self-judgement when you eat something that you’re “not supposed to.”
Wow!! I can't even remember the last time I even thought about using food to cope.
What we will explore together in the lessons to come; what you are about to learn and to quickly prove to yourself; is that the issue is not food. And no, it’s not about your body either, truly. Food and body focus are just symptoms of a deeper concern. Just like isolation, anxiety, depression, fear, procrastination and negative self-talk; food and body focus stem from something deeper and do not arise in and of themselves. No exceptions.
Just as you cannot expect complete recovery from a stroke by simply avoiding speaking, you cannot focus your efforts on the symptoms of this problem (ie. food and body image) and expect any lasting success and healing to occur. If you are considering joining our Food is not the Problem program it means that on a gut level you already know that dieting, or restriction of any kind, is not going to get you where you want to go. You’ve likely tried that many times by now. But the best part is you don’t have to take my word for it, you’ll prove this to yourself within the first few days of exploring the materials and lessons in the program.
O.K. so I just started the course and I was reading the stuff about the Drill Seargant (inner critic) and I didn't actually walk though the entire process. I kept saying "Yah, Yah that makes sense" and putting off putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard). So then when I started lesson 3 it said to do it before I go any further. So I did it and WOW that was powerful!!! Really, really powerful.
Given the line of thinking that is so prevalent in our society; namely that it is something wrong or lacking in you that prevents your success with diet and exercise; it would be perfectly appropriate for you to be entering this process of lasting growth and transformation with some self-judgement and a big helping of doubt.
You are likely coming to this process with the belief that if you only tried harder; if you only had more willpower; if you only were more committed or less lazy; if you really, really wanted things to change, you would be able to make that diet or exercise program stick.
Well, let’s just nip that thought process right in the bud shall we?
Did you know that?:
• The average woman can stick to a diet for only 2 weeks at a time;
Did you hear that? 2 weeks! – There is nothing wrong with you that you couldn’t stick to a restrictive approach to food for any length of time – you’re in very good company actually.
• 95% of people who lose weight on a diet put it back on within 2 years.
• 98% of all eating disorders, whether overeating, restricting or purging being with a diet.
• 1 in 3 women have been on more than 10 diets in their lives;
10!!! This befits the definition of insanity – to keep trying the same thing over and over and expect different results. Restriction is restriction regardless of what the program is, and it isn’t ever going to result in lasting success and freedom from food and body stress.
• Only 9% of women never diet!
No wonder people think it is normal to focus on food and restriction! And no wonder so many people struggle to even remember what a natural and easy relationship with food looks and feels like! But this program takes care of all that and shows you how to feel safe and trusting of yourself around food again.
So if you’ve ever thought “Everyone else can stick to a diet, why can’t I?” or “there must be something wrong with me that I can’t lose weight.” Or even “No one else struggles with food and body image as much as I do!” Now you know, you’re actually in the majority, not the minority. It’s just that the diet industry has done such a number on us that, despite our own repeated experience of the failure of dieting, we are ashamed to admit that it doesn’t work for us because we think we’re the only ones who can’t make it stick. Actually, as you see above, practically no one is successful with diets. The diet industry doesn’t want you to know that though!
A concept from your book that filled me with great hope was that of Natural Eating. I know a few people who eat this way. I have always felt jealous of their "innate ability" to have such a free and easy relationship with food. I thought people were either "born" with the power, or not. I was relieved to discover that I could consciously change my relationship with food by learning new skills and dealing with demons. The ultimate goal is indeed a more peaceful existence around food and exercise. That is what I am creating for myself. Thank you.
If you think about it, it makes perfect sense that diets are not a lasting solution to anything. First off, if someone truly has extra weight on their body, or feels that there is something unacceptable about how they look, and they aren’t supported to find out why they are eating more than they are hungry for, the only natural outcome is that they will continue to struggle with overeating at times, regardless of how much they might want to stick to a diet.
Secondly, diets tune you out and teach you to mistrust the natural signals of hunger and fullness from your body. So instead of learning what’s really triggering you to overeat and how to know when you’re really hungry and comfortably full, you learn to judge and fear the signals of hunger and fullness in your body. It is at this point (usually the very first diet for most people) that you have developed disordered eating.
Regardless of how long you’ve been engaged in the cycle of restriction and overeating, the solution is simple and fast. This program shows you exactly what to do to restore an easy and effortless relationship with food and to come to a natural weight for your body with no dieting and no rigorous exercise programs.
When this Online Program was first launched, I procrastinated against joining, and felt hesitant to enter into something that I felt would lock me down - I am a perfectionist, and hate starting something I can't master. I did not fully engage in this program until I moved out of the country. Now that I am far away from family and friends, and starting new relationships, I realize how helpful the online program can be.

The process that you are undertaking with this program will identify what your underlying triggers are and what you can do to begin to heal and completely overcome that pattern. This means you never again even think of using food to cope, or any of those other harmful coping strategies we spoke of above. You just get to focus on living and fulfilling your passions in life.
