Well said....and thank you for writing this article and for sharing your wisdom and for affirming and reaffirming that food is not the problem. The underlying causes and reasons to my weight gain throughout my life has never been because of food itself. Food isn't a problem, nor a solution. Food is just that...food. My problems aren't about food. I didn't overeat because there was a 'lack' of food in my belly either nor because there was a food shortage in my reality and all the food was going to be gone tomorrow and forever and that if I didn't store up I would perish. It was for exactly the reasons you outlined in your article. Bravo! I am so grateful for all that I am learning about my self through the sharing of your own experiences and in the sharing of the insights you have acquired in your own personal journey. I am learning to feel safer everyday in living the life I desire and in speaking up about what works for me and what doesn't, without having to live in fear, guilt and shame for expressing my own honesty and without having to feel or be afraid of how other people respond or react to that or whether they agree with me in the caring of myself and in the caring to meet my own needs to live authentically and joyfully. I am responsible for me and my personal wellness and happiness. I matter! I am thankful Michelle that you are in my life and that you have brought so much knowledge to others in such caring and compassionate ways.
Big hugs, Glenda
